Numerology of the number 36

The number 36 can be read as 3 and 6, 30 and 6, and 36. The numbers 3 and 6 add up to 9. Therefore, 36 is a so-called 9-cycle number, i.e., a number or any multiple of that number consists of digits that will always add up to 9.

The number 3 means maturity, old age, standing like a tripod, stability, complete like a triangle, and the I Ching universe in which the yin and yang entangle to produce the I Ching circle, the Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, and the three branches of the Legislative, the Executive and the Judiciary in a check and balance system of government.

The number 6 means rebirth, that which comes from the void (5), 6=5+1. So the 3 and 6 in juxtaposition indicate maturity and old age (3) and rebirth (6).

The number 30 can refer to age or duration. A house number 36 may indicate an event happening after living there for 29 or 30 years which will cause the family to terminate residency in that house after 6 more years. The number 36 may also indicate age or duration when some event happens, for example, an early death of one’s parent when one is 36 years old. Assuming that one’s mother marries at age 21 or 23 and gives birth one year later, then when one is 36 years old, mother would be 58 or 60 years old. Nowadays, death at these ages is considered an early death.

The numbers 3 and 6 add up to 9, i.e., a 9-cycle number. Let us pick a random number, say 12854, and multiply it by 36, i.e., 12854 x 36 = 462744. Adding the digits 4+6+2+7+4+4=27, and again, 2+7=9.

In Chinese numerology, the 9th,…. 59th, 69th, 79th, 89th birthdays are always celebrated as the 10th, 60th, 70th, 80th, and 90th birthdays. The number 9 means “before a new cycle begins”.
