Huo qi

In response.

The Chinese herbal remedies for “huo qi” are the cool teas, “liang cha” (Leung cha) like jasmine tea, the Five Flower Tea (wu hua cha), the Wong Lau Ji leung cha, chrysanthemum tea, bitter melon tea, etc. These teas create a mental state opposite to “huo qi” (fo hey) and causes depression, a hypotensive crisis (sudden extreme low blood pressure), temporary impotence, and general listlessness and sleepiness, suicidal thoughts, and such side effects. But, they do work to calm one down and rid one of “hua qi”.

Western medications would include the sleeping pills, the sedatives, and other depressants such as Ritalin. All of these are bad medicines.
