Pain in back above kidneys

Pain in the back above the kidneys is pain in the mid back and in the shoulder blade muscles. It is usually caused by an uneven mattress, a sunken mattress or bed, lifting something improperly, or vigorous arm exercises involving weight lifting or pulling weights.

If one is using one of those mechanical exercise machines to pull weights up and down, and one feels pain in the mid back and in the shoulder blade muscles, throw the machine away! Do pull-ups with a parallel bar instead.
