Soak the foot with the hard scab under the tip of the toe nail in hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes each time, several times a day if possible, and for at least five days.
We want to soften the hard scab with hydrogen peroxide. We also want to kill any bacteria or toe fungus underneath the scab and under the tip of the toe nail. Hydrogen peroxide softens the accumulation of any bacteria and toe fungus under the toe nail.
The application of hydrogen peroxide actually dries out the bacteria infected skin as well as the moist area underneath the hard scab. This process helps the skin underneath the hard scab to heal. When that occurs, the scab will fall off by itself.
