Oily constitution in Chinese medicine

In response.

Chinese medicine does not regard an oily constitution as a problem. It does regard dry skin as a problem.

Even among the Chinese population, including ethnic Han and Mongol, the darker the skin color the oilier the skin and constitution while those of lighter skin color are more likely to have dry skin. Chinese women with fairer skin are often described as having pale skin, and pale skin is often drier skin. The same is said about the dryness of the skin of a Caucasian woman and an African woman. I have seen African women with very beautiful dark shiny skin.
