A culture of denial

Reaction to the Chinese documentary on pollution in China has revealed a general culture of denial by Chinese “scholars” who still doubt the detrimental effects of pollution.  It is this utterly despicable denial by these so-called “scholars” and “scientists” that is evil.  The government has been issuing general air quality index numbers for major cities but has been otherwise tacit.  What is despicable is that there are many who deny that pollution is hazardous to human health, and denying that pollution is directly related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).  Some even cite the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer)  but deny that COPD and the evidence presented by IARC on the effects of pollution even exist on the Chinese mainland despite data that show pulmonary cancer has been on the increase over the years.

The culture on the Chinese mainland is a culture of denial!
