Dramatic drop in births by foreign mothers on Taiwan

In 2014, there were 14,000 births by foreign mothers on Taiwan.  In 2004, there were 30,000.  In 2014, the number of newborns by foreign mothers on Taiwan constituted 6.5% of all newborns.  In 2004, newborns by foreign mothers on Taiwan constituted 13.8% of all newborns.

In 2014, there were 212,000 pregnant women.  In 2004, there were 217,000 pregnant women in Taiwan.  The number of pregnant Taiwanese women in 2004 constituted 86.2% of all pregnant women on Taiwan.  In 2014, the number of pregnant Taiwanese women constituted 93.5% of all pregnant women on Taiwan.  The number of pregnant Vietnamese wives on Taiwan in 2004 constituted 6.1% of all pregnant women.  In 2014, they constituted only 1.6% of all pregnant women on Taiwan.
