High blood pressure among young Taiwanese

High blood pressure among young Taiwanese

Taiwan now has 4300000 people with high blood pressure, and 15% to 20% among them are 35 years old and younger.  High cholesterol is also affecting the young.  A 27-year-old female office worker was found to have a blood cholesterol count of 220.

Greasy foods, constantly eating out, sweet drinks, all popular on Taiwan, have been blamed for the rise in both high blood pressure and high cholesterol among young Taiwanese.
