IIT offers Chinese classes for Indian students

In August, 2015, Taiwan’s ministry of education dispatched 11 Chinese language instructors to teach Chinese at the Mumbai campus of the Indian Institute of Technology. There are now 50 students attending classes to learn Chinese.  According to the ministry, these Indian students will likely go to Taiwan to work.

Since 2011, Taiwan has set up 5 Chinese language centers with 8 teachers.  There are three teachers who teach Chinese language classes at Indian schools.  Since 2011, 3,000 Indian students have been studying Chinese.

In the 2015 academic school year, 804 Indian students are studying for academic degrees in Taiwan, and 339 Indian students are attending short term studies and Chinese language classes in Taiwan.
