Taiwan’s gonorrhea cases increased 37%

Taiwan’s gonorrhea cases increased 37% from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, there were 3,584 gonorrhea cases, an increase of 37% from 2,622 cases in 2014.

From 2011 to 2015, the number of juvenile cases of girls getting gonorrhea increased by 107% while the number of juvenile cases of boys getting gonorrhea increased by 102%.

The youngest cases in 2015 were two 13-year-old boys and two 13-year-old girls.  Of the total number of 3,584 cases in 2015, 3,352 are males and 232 are females, showing an increase of 36% among males and 41% increase among females.  Also, 325 of the total or 9.07% were between 10 and 19 years old.  They include 269 males and 56 females.  Taiwan has 902 hospitals and 1,314 doctors who treat gonorrhea.
