Taiwan finds first enterovirus 71 case

A boy two and a half years old in central Taiwan had a fever on March 23, 2016.  He was diagnosed as having an enterovirus infection.  On March 26, 2016, the boy suffered cramps in the feet and was hospitalized.  He was diagnosed as having an enterovirus 71 infection on March 31, 2016.  From January to the end of March, 2016, there have been five enterovirus 71 infection cases.  In 2015, there were a total of 6 cases, with 3 cases of Coxsackie B5, 2 cases of Coxsackie A16, 1 case of E. Coli type 3.  There were two deaths.
