Taiko drumming as therapy

Taiko drumming as therapy

A group of parents with children having cerebral atrophy in Taiwan has formed a Taiko drumming troupe with about 20 members consisting of their handicapped children to perform Taiko drumming as a form of physical therapy.

Taiko is Japanese for “grand drum”.  Taiko performances are held frequently but “drumming” as a form of physical therapy for cerebral atrophy sufferers is rare.
