Asia University, Taiwan, founded only 15 years ago, opened its subsidiary hospital on August 1, 2016.  The hospital provides direct employment opportunities for graduates in physical therapy, nursing, psychology and medically related undergraduate departments.

On August 8, 2016, the ministry of education announced that although 43 universities have filled their student (freshmen class) recruitment quotas, 23 universities and 203 academic departments did not fill their student recruitment quotas, and there are a total of 2,953 student vacancies for the 2016 academic year.

However, Asia University, Taiwan, has been able to overfill its recruitment quota by 101.19%.  There were 884 applicants for 61 student slots in its sophomore class, 71 applicants have been approved for admission to the university’s psychology department which is offering only two student slots, and 63 applicants have been approved for admission to the university’s foreign language department which is offering only two student slots, and there are 14 applicants waiting to be admitted to the commercial products design department and 12 applicants waiting to be admitted to the interior design department.
