Over 7,000 test tube babies are born each year on Taiwan
The infertility rate among Taiwanese women is between 10% and 15%, higher than the global average of between 8% and 10%.
Each year, over 7,000 test tube babies are born on Taiwan. Among every 100 newborn babies, 2 to 3 are test tube babies.
Taiwan’s National Health Administration said in 2014 that even though women over 43 years old who receive artificial insemination of test tube embryos have a pregnancy rate of 9%, their successful birth rate is less than 4%.
