Taiwan plans to allow imports from 5 Japanese prefectures contaminated by the March 11, 2011, Fukushima nuclear disaster

An announcement to allow importation of some agricultural products from the five Japanese prefectures of Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma and Chiba contaminated by the March 11, 2011, Fukushima nuclear disaster, made be made by Taiwan’s health authorities in November, 2016, and elimination of the ban may come in the first quarter of 2017.  Cultivated agricultural products of the five prefectures may be allowed first while the ban on agricultural products produced in open fields with possibility of soil contamination will continue.
