Biomarker blood test to detect dementia

Taiwan University Hospital, En Chu Gong Hospital, Jen Ai Hospital, and Shuang Ho Hospital in Taiwan recently studied over 200 dementia patients and conducted clinical blood tests in an attempt to find biological markers that would indicate dementia.  The tests have been submitted to Taiwan’s health authorities for review, and the results of the review are expected within a few months.

Taiwan has 250,000 dementia patients many of whom are taken care of by Indonesian homecare workers.  By 2066, it is estimated that Taiwan will have 850,000 dementia patients.
