Taiwan’s retirement age and labor participation rate

The average retirement age of Taiwanese male workers is at 62.8 years old, and the average retirement age of Taiwanese female workers is at 60.7 years old.

The labor participation rate of Taiwanese workers at 55 years old is 55% and that of those 60 year old and older is 35%.  The labor participation rate of Taiwanese women 55 years old and older is 40%.

The labor participation rate of Taiwanese male workers before 60 years old is 70% but their  labor participation rate after 60 years old drops to 49.3%.

Taiwan’s college and university education is widely available to its entire population.  The labor participation rate of those 20-24 years old is 52.2%.  The labor participation rate of those 25-29 years old is 92.5%.  The labor participate rate of those 50-54 years old is 70%, of those 55-59 years old is 55%, of those 60-64 years old is 35.8%, and of those 65 years old and older is 8.8%.  The labor participation rate of those 15-19 years old is 8.4%.
