Taiwan’s hypertension rates

The prevalence of hypertension among those over 18 years old is at 25.2%, and the prevalence of hypertension among those over 40 years old is 37.5%, and 1/3 of seniors (over 65 years old) has hypertension, nearly 5,000,000 people.

In 2017. Taiwan lowered its hypertension treatment indicator from 140/90 to 130/80.

Among those older than 18 years old, 23.7% had not had any hypertension checkup within the past year, and among those 18-39 years old, 30% have not had a hypertension checkup within the past year.
