Taiwan still has some 5,000 people who are unaware they have AIDS
In 2018, 1993 new AIDS cases were recorded, and there is an estimated 5,000 of so people who are unaware they have AIDS.
Taiwan’s AIDS Association urges the use of a PrEP plan. PrEP is said to reduce the risk of getting AIDS by 44% to 90%.
The number of people newly affected by HIV/AIDS in 2018 was about 20% less than the number registered in 2017.
Taiwan’s high risk population for HIV/AIDS consists of those between 15 and 44 years old.
