You’re 18, you’re an adult in Taiwan

Taiwan revised its maturity law on June 27, 2020.  Adulthood is now 18 years old for both males and females.  High school students of both sexes who have reached 18 years old can marry without parental consent.

Girls who are 16 years old still need parental consent to marry.
